Council Overview

Guiding Our Vision, Strengthening Our Community

The Governing Council of Anioma Association USA, Inc. plays a crucial role in shaping our organization's direction, policies, and strategies.

The Governing Council shall consist of the Executive Committee, the current Presidents of Member Chapters in good standing, and past Presidents of the Association who served at least a term. In the absence of the current president, a member chapter may be represented by a duly authorized proxy.

The duties of the Governing Council shall include but not limited to advising the Executive committee, serving in committees, engaging in fund raising activities and promoting Anioma culture.

Role of the Governing Council

The Governing Council oversees the association’s core programs, strategic decisions, and community outreach efforts. Working collaboratively, council members:

  • Set the Strategic Direction: The council establishes priorities and objectives that guide our programs, projects, and initiatives, aligning them with the evolving needs of the Anioma community.

  • Ensure Accountability and Transparency: By overseeing the association’s operations and finances, the council ensures that Anioma Association USA, Inc. upholds the highest standards of integrity and accountability in all its activities.

  • Advocate for the Community: Council members represent the interests and voices of Anioma members across the United States, working to address community concerns, advocate for resources, and promote policies that support our collective well-being.

  • Foster Cultural Pride and Unity: The council actively encourages cultural pride, community engagement, and unity among Anioma descendants, ensuring that our heritage remains a vibrant and integral part of our community identity.
